Heath Ledger on top

Heath Ledger

Heath Ledger died at the young age of 28 but he lives on in the hearts of millions.

The actor has emerged as the strongest favourite to win the posthumous Oscar in the Best Supporting Actor category for his negative role in the Batman flick ‘The Dark Knight’.

According to The Mirror, bookmakers William Hill, the Australian star is a 1-50 to get the award, which makes it the shortest odds ever. William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams has said, "Heath is such an absolute certainty you’ve got to feel a bit sorry for the fellow nominees. They have no absolutely no chance whatsoever of winning."

The bookies predict that the odds are likely to get even shorter just before the ceremony. Some online bookmakers are already offering staggering odds of 1-100 for the actor.

The actor has already bagged a BAFTA and the Golden Globe for his villainous role as ‘The Joker’ in ‘The Dark Knight’.

William Hill has also predicted a guaranteed win for ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ under the Best Movie category with odds of 1-10.  -Sampurn Media
