Keira Knightly is all set to step into style icon Audrey Hepburn’s shoes.

The Oscar-nominated filmmaker Stephen Daldry is in negotiations to direct a new film version of ‘My Fair Lady’.

And his choice is British actress Keira Knightley in the lead.

The buzz is that Knightley has been on the top of Daldry’s list to play the "guttersnipe", the female lead Eliza Doolittle and rumours are also rife that she’s already started taking singing lessons.

Dailymail.co.uk has reported that Daldry believes that people have been "fooled" for nearly half a century into thinking that the 1964 screen "My Fair Lady" was a great movie.

He had said, "It’s all about sets and costumes, isn’t it? Which are fantastic as are the songs, of course. It’s a visual masterpiece but it needs to be more than that. It’s a clunky movie."

The filming will begin next year on locations in central London. -Sampurn Media
