Summit Entertainment to distribute Roman Polanski’s film

Summit Entertainment, who will be the distributors of the film in North America, has taken on filmmaker Roman Polanski’s latest film, ‘The Ghost Writer’.

The film, starring Pierce Brosnan and Ewan McGregor, has been sold to many other studios across the world.

Meanwhile, Polanski has been put under house arrest since September 2009, after he was taken into custody by Swiss authorities. It is yet to be decided if he will be sent over to the US to face a sentence for the child sex charges against him.

The director went away to Europe and lived there in exile in 1978 after he was found guilty of having sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977. Recently, Brosnan asked the government to speed up the trials so that he can live his life.
